Nuclear - Destiny's Child.

DKNY - Fur collar. H&M - Hat. Barry M - Black Lipstick.

As we all know, it snowed in the UK! Such a beautiful sight was it not? I know people are very "meh" about the snow sometimes but come on in the UK it literally really only snows for one week of the fifty two weeks so yeah it may cause slight inconveniences for some but ultimately it is absolutely gorgeous!

Okay as for my outfit? I woke up that morning and said "I'm going to take an All White look in the snow with my heels on" maybe not out loud and maybe not in this exact order but I just knew I wanted to! :)

I took my DKNY fur collar and put it over my H&M hat, it was just one of those spontaneous ideas! Then I put on this gorgeous white dress which I've had for a few years now however the time I got it, it didn't fit very well so then I just hand tailored it. By the way, I've noticed that I'm a clothes/shoes hoarder LOL I literally buy stuff regardless of whether it fits and now my new wardrobe (I had to get a bigger one recently) is overflowing and my shoes are just everywhere! The heels I'm wearing in this are from a cute little boutique in New York, I got them in 2007 when I was 14 and raved to my sister how they will "come in" and ahhem platformless, curved heel with ankle detail? ;)

Before I went out in the snow, I put lots of coconut oil on my hair to use as a "hold" because for anyone who doesn't know, coconut oil is very temperature responsive so if the weather is hot, the coconut oil melts and if the weather is cold, the coconut oil solidifies. I put two and two together and thought hmmm that would meant that theoretically speaking my hair would "freeze" in the snow and commercially speaking holding hairsprays work by "freezing" the hair/style so I just thought this was a perfect little natural alternative! As soon as I stepped back home into warmth, my hair felt as moisturised as ever, it's almost like the theory on "splashing cold water as a final rise to close cuticles" came to life. That and coconut oil being THE BEST and proven to penetrate the hair shaft!

The title of this post is inspired by Destiny's Child's new song Nuclear. YES. I said it, DESTINY'S CHILD have a new song! Destiny's Child were one of my most watched acts when I was younger. Remember those pre-YouTube days where we could only wait and watch videos of TV and just hope that our fave songs would come on? Well now, lucky us we get to watch/listen to these euphoric inducing tracks whenever we want to! What's your fave Destiny's Child song? Here's some of mine!

UPDATE:

These girls are on fire.

Our musical dreams came true! Destiny's Child reunited at the SuperBowl XLVII 2013 on Sunday February 3rd 2013 with a breathtaking performance. Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined Beyonce Knowles and performed some of their best tracks including Bootylicious and Independent Woman - they then helped Beyonce perform Single Ladies. I don't know about you guys but I thought it was amazing and brought back such great childhood memories! The girls were wearing an all black leather ensemble and what I've always loved about Destiny's Child's fashion is that they all still have their unique styles within the group!
