Five things that will make you feel fabulous - January 2014 edition.

08:00

These days, society puts a huge amount of pressure upon women to look good. We’re taught that if you aren’t super skinny you simply don’t fit in.

There’s so much advertising that can quite frankly make you feel bad about yourself. However, no matter what size or shape you are, it is possible to look and feel fabulous. The key is to make the best of what you have.

One of the easiest ways to feel fantastic is to ensure you are wearing the right clothing. Below you’ll find the top five pieces of clothing every woman should own.

1. Black fitted jacket

Black fitted jackets are not only super stylish but they also have a slimming effect too. They can be worn for formal and casual occasions and when teamed with a good pair of jeans will create a really fashionable look that will make you feel fantastic.

It goes with just about anything. The one thing you need to be sure of when choosing a jacket is that it accentuates your waist perfectly. The wrong fit could end up looking disastrous.

2. The perfect pair of jeans

Did you know that most women don’t own a pair of correctly fitted jeans? They are the most common type of ladies clothing available, yet buying them can be really hard work.

Different stores seem to stock entirely different sizes. They say a size 12 on the label, yet when you get them home you realise they’re more of a size 8-10. Vice versa, they may say size 6 but end up feeling like a size 10. It’s a minefield and that’s why it is important to try them on in store to avoid any lengthy returns procedures.

The right fit jeans will make you feel confident and they will look amazing. It’s win-win!

3. Oversized cardigan

Oversized cardigans are a must in the winter months. They can also be perfect on slightly cooler days in spring/summer. The oversized look is particularly in at the moment and it has the advantage of hiding a multitude of sins.

4. Faux fur scarf/collar

Suitable for wear all year round, a faux fur scarf or collar will really make you feel fabulous darling! It really adds #FIERCEness to your look and can look great with even just a simple t-shirt and jeans.

5. Little black dress

No must-have clothing list would be complete without the little black dress. This has been popular for decades and it shows no signs of disappearing anytime soon. There’s a huge choice of black dresses on the market and there’s one to suit all body shapes.

Try to find one that has something unique about it. Small details or unusual sleeves can really enhance the look.

  23. I have the fitted black jacket both casual and dressy and the LBD. My go - to cardi is not quite oversized but its definitely cozy and big enough to cover up those questionable "- I don't quite feel comfortable being public feeling" outfits lol.

  24. Ah I love this post! I have a LBD and a long one, as well as a black oversized cardi and some lovely jeans as well as jeggings that fit me perfectly! I like the jeggings more though. I really want a back fitted jacket in leather, although I do have a pretty nice one at the moment. Scarves aren't really my thing though.

You look super happy in all those photos. You're real pretty ^^
